Based on expert interpretation of Census 2020 data, provided by redistricting legal counsel and a demographic consultant, the Coast District's current trustee areas were determined to be fully compliant with federal and state law. The evaluation of trustee areas was required following the decennial census. The Coast District had engaged in a voluntary process in 2017 with the conclusion of moving to trustee election by area.
