On Friday, June 4th, 2021, Coastline College's 44th commencement ceremony, will be held virtually at 4:00 pm, on the Coastline YouTube Channel. Coastline will recognize the accomplishments of 2054 graduates earning degrees and certificate for the 2020-2021 academic year. A total of 265 will be graduating with honors with 20 valedictorians.

Coastline College is one of eight colleges that has been awarded a grant totaling $400,000 that spans five years and allows them to create and implement a competency-based Associates Degree in Management. Coastline College was selected through a competitive review process to participate in the Chancellor's office Competency Based Education (CBE) collaborative. In January, The Coast Community College District Board voted in favor of the grant application and the pursuit of competency-based education.

The growth and popularity of college esports have rapidly been on the rise and in no small way. Colleges are implementing esports as a tool to recruit and enroll students to their schools and engage students with student campus life activities, as well as providing a guided pathway to completing higher education and fulfilling careers. Coastline College has joined this phenomenon, but with a caveat. The people leading the development of esports and the curriculum associated with esports at the college are women.
